Return

Return
A foreigner in the land, unaware of my surrounding
Searching for a place to reside until the morning
In the shadows I hide, the light pierces my sight
I dwell among the swine, but only for the night
For when the dawn comes so will be my embark
Into the commonwealth of man, yet I feel set apart
Isolated, as I toss and turn in the bitter cold
My eyes close in reverence as my hands fold
“Lord, I ask for your blessing as I progress,
And, forgive me of my past, so much I regret
Give me the strength to survive in this land,
As I cling to the instruction you gave to Abraham
Go before me and protect me of my pride
So that my spirit and my countenance be held high
I give you all the honor and I put my trust in You
I pray to return home, among the chosen few.
Among the chosen few, among the chosen few
Favored among others, those being my brothers
The youngest of the sons, yet considered number one
My brothers shake their heads and become enraged
Why does our father favor, he should join us in labor
We should be the ones to play, throughout the entire day
We’ve earned the right to rest, we labor in vain
Remember the dream he told about the gathered grain
How we would bow down to him, he must be insane
Let’s take him away and cast him into the earth
Then sell him as a slave to see how much he’s worth
Their plot against me will bring a new start
I may be sent away but I will never be set apart
For my gift will bring me before lords and kings
And they too will render unto what word I bring
Lord, I pray for my brothers and I put my trust in You,
I pray to return them home, among the chosen few.
Among the chosen few, among the chosen few
I flee into the wilderness as they plot against me,
So close to the day when I would come to be
Promoted to govern this land and the people
But, I seen that truly all weren’t considered equal
And, something deep inside was crying out loud
A voice I recognized but I couldn’t make out
Anger struck my mind so I struck back
Leaving one of my own flat on his back
What have I done, I never meant to hurt know one
I seen the redemption in their eyes asking to come
I set the captive free and became a public enemy
So I runaway leaving everything behind me
To face the long hot days and dark cold nights
And now that voice inside becomes my guiding light
I listen to the call and I put my trust in You
I pray to return again, among the chosen few.
Among the chosen few, among the chosen few
We’re considered the lost ones, but consider the lost son
Among the chosen few

W.W.I.D. (What Would I Do)
When I first heard that snare and kick drum
It made me realize that something had to be done
the emotion i felt and the vibe that elevated
caused words to form sentences to what was orchestrated
a simple head nod wasn't enough for me
cause you caused me to see things others didn't see
but how can that be, is the question every emcee
asks themselves how is it that i need to be
a master of ceremony, the modern day visionary
making things appear from out of the ordinary
the sensation i felt, from my head to my feet
appeared in ink, and resonated from a beat
a gift that I wrapped and gave to the masses
a light to shine beyond the darkness it surpasses
and now with mic in hand, as the the lyrics come to
tell me without you, what would I do
Chorus (Sample) What, what would I do. Without You.
When I first saw that unique physique
I knew that you were someone that I had to meet
And, our love story is one for the ages
As we write history and share to turn the pages
What you are to me no words can express
As I write these words and give it my best
Love, Life and Faith all wrapped into one
I met you at 100% cause that's how's done
My ground to produce and bring forth fruit
And, always telling me to remember my roots
My ear to hear to strike a conversation
A constant open hand without hesitation
Heart beats marching to the same drum beat
My missing piece to make to everything complete
That's why I thank God everyday for you
'Cause without you, what would I do?
Chorus (Sample) What, what would I do. Without You.
When I first, opened my heart to let you in
Back then it was to forgive me of all the sin
You cleanse me from the inside out
As began to search deeper and read about
How you came to earth in the form of man
Just so that we could see and understand
Your love for us is unconditional and true
And all that you asked was for us to know of you
To obey what you asked and remember it daily
Giving us bread so that we never grow weary
Teach it to our children as we walk on the way
Of the straight and narrow path that you made
As I reminisce of times back in the day
I never remember a time that you led me astray
Even though I seemed lost, I always knew
That without you in my in life, what would I do.
Chorus (Sample) What, what would I do. Without You.
Psalm 7:17 "I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High."

Stranger in the Land

Stranger in the Land
Crash landed in the middle of a neighborhood,
Stepped out into the streetlight and there they stood
All different shapes and sizes gathered all around
To see what manner of creature had invaded their town
One among them approached me to speak
Welcome to our world, we come in peace
If you choose to dwell among our cities and streets
We have some rules to lay down and credentials to meet
First thing is first, please tell us your name
We can change it if we like to sound the same
We also need to know what preferences you like
If you choose to be different from us then think twice
The rules that we’ve made, we’ve used to condemn
We persecute, manipulate and make examples of them
And, when we ask you to be apart our events
Just practice as we do and show some respect
I’m trying to find my way back home
But everywhere I go, it seems I'm alone
Everything I see, seems unreal to me
I'm a stranger in the land
Everything they do, and everything they speak
Has me lost in disbelief, for the truth I seek
I’m searching for a way but I can't understand
'Cause I'm a stranger in the land
They invited me to be a guest at their table
We gathered all around to hear unknown fables
Stories of change that led to their success
And how their new way of life seemed now to progress
I arose from my seat and asked to speak
Who among you taught you these techniques
They glanced at each other and conversed in anger
Who are you to say, that one of us is better
We have no leader, we delegate authority
And we change our laws and our priorities
This way there’s no anger, violence or wars
The less that we embrace seems to turn out more
I laughed to grin and shook my head in disbelief
And suddenly they all arose from their seats
Our rules are simple yet you choose to make fun
So now you have become public enemy number one
I’m trying to find my way back home
But everywhere I go, it seems I'm alone
Everything I see, seems unreal to me
I'm a stranger in the land
Everything they do, and everything they speak
Has me lost in disbelief, for the truth I seek
I’m searching for a way but I can't understand
'Cause I'm a stranger in the land
They grabbed my arms and forced me to the ground
Beat me up until blood came out of my mouth
Will you surrender and bow down to our laws
And forget all that you’ve learned no matter the cause
I lifted my head with a smile on my face
They brought me to their citizens as a showcase
Let this be a reminder to those who rebel
The crowd grew in numbers and began to yell
Who is this creature and what has he done
He has refused our laws and will change for no one
So we will send him to the far ends of the land
With the rest of those who refused to understand
I was escorted out from among their habitat
To dwell among those who refused to adapt
The journey seemed long but I what I found
Was a remnant of citizens all wearing crowns
I’m trying to find my way back home
But everywhere I go, it seems I'm alone
Everything I see, seems unreal to me
I'm a stranger in the land
Everything they do, and everything they speak
Has me lost in disbelief, for the truth I seek
I’m searching for a way but I can't understand
'Cause I'm a stranger in the land
I have found my way back home
And everywhere I go, I'm not alone
Everything I see seems is real to me
And this is who I am
